Danielle Peterson, LCSW, OSW-C

Danielle Peterson, OCRA’s Director of Education, is a licensed clinical social worker and an oncology certified social worker. She has worked alongside people affected by cancer for over 10 years and is passionate about helping those diagnosed and their loved ones access and understand the information they need to be resilient and feel empowered.
Danielle completed her Master of Social Science Administration (MSSA) from Case Western’s Mandel School of Applied Social Science and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Huntington University. She has extensive experience providing direct service to people of all ages and various cancer diagnoses at both local and national cancer advocacy organizations. Her research has focused on the unique needs of young adults with cancer as well as narrative and art-based interventions focused on meaning making.
With experience teaching in social work higher education, she is passionate about helping healthcare students develop a patient-centered, whole-person, and interdisciplinary approach to care.
Danielle is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers and the Cancer Patient Education Network.
