The congressional appropriations process for the 2023 fiscal year is well underway and the ovarian cancer community is requesting $50 million for the Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) at Department of Defense (DoD), a $5 million increase over current funding levels.

Congressional champions — Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY),  Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), and Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA) — launched a Dear Colleague letter that urges Congress to increase funding for this program. But they need your help to get as many of their congressional colleagues to sign on as possible. (In the context of federal funding, such Dear Colleague letters are highly influential and often instrumental to securing requested increases, especially if they display strong bipartisan support.)

The OCRP is the only federal research program dedicated to ovarian cancer. They invest in high-impact, cutting-edge research that fills unmet needs along the research pipeline. Despite their success, OCRP has to turn away high-quality research proposals every year because of funding limitations.

Please take action today by completing our quick form. You may edit the message, if you wish, and the system will automatically send it to your Member of Congress. Don’t wait: The deadline to sign on and push this funding increase across the finish line is April 19th!
