Annie Ellis is a 15-year survivor of recurrent ovarian cancer and 9-year survivor of breast cancer. Annie serves the ovarian cancer community as a research advocate on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).
Annie has been appointed to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Council of Research Advocates (NCRA) and serves at NCI as Co-chair of the Patient Advocate Steering Committee and as a patient advocate with Gynecologic Cancer Steering Committee. Annie also serves as a consumer member of the CDMRP Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) Programmatic Panel, an FDA Patient Representative and a patient advocate grant reviewer for ASCO.
Annie has provided the patient perspective at various meetings and events, including publication and presentations of surveys she has conducted to quantify the survivor perspective on decision-making in the recurrent setting and clinical trial participation. Annie provides peer support at MSKCC, SHARE’s Ovarian Helpline and OCRA’s Woman to Woman Program.
