Shelley Golden is a native Detroiter who now resides in Bal Harbour, Florida with summers spent in Northern Michigan.
She graduated from Wayne State University and received her Master’s Degree in Psychological Counseling from Oakland University. She was in private practice facilitating both Parenting Groups and counseling for Problems of Daily Living.
Shelley is a four time ovarian cancer survivor (better known as a “THRIVER”!!!!!), and a frequent speaker on women’s health issues with an emphasis on the prevention and management of ovarian cancer. She has devoted much of her time helping women cope with the disease in the most positive way while serving on many boards including Hospice of Southeastern Michigan. Shelley is currently on the board of Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in New York.
She is the co-founder of SEE, one of the largest single name optical boutiques in the country. SEE is dedicated to raising money and awareness for many pet causes including ovarian cancer, animal welfare and human rights.
Shelley has been married to her High School sweetheart, Richard, for 50 years. They proudly have two married children and four grandchildren. She is a true lover of life!
