Shuang Zhang, PhD

Shuang Zhang, PhD. is a Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Benjamin G. Neel at the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Health. She received her M.S. in Embryology at the Chinese Agricultural University (2009). She obtained her Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology at the Chinese Academy of Science (2013). Dr. Zhang is currently investigating the pathogenesis of High Grade Ovarian Cancer by using 3D orgaonid system and CRISPR/Cas9 technology to rapidly engineer combinations of mutations seen in human HGSOC. Multiple models with different gene combination had been generated in cooperation with Dr. Robert Weignberg at MIT. In order to find out the organoid formation unit, which is the potential stem cells, she employs the single cell RNAseq on organoids, the data is being analyzed in collaboration with Dr. Dana Pe’er at MSKCC.
