Joyce Casertino, an ovarian cancer survivor in Wilton, New York, is serving up support for research one scoop at a time, through an ice cream run fundraiser benefiting Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, as reported by WNYT News Channel 13.
Joyce told WNYT that her fundraiser was inspired by the celebratory ice cream she enjoyed after finishing ovarian cancer treatment.
“I think people need to be aware of ovarian cancer,” Joyce shared. “Ovarian cancer affects so many women, and I don’t think it gets the attention it deserves.”
