The Rio Grande Valley community will once again come together to ride for research as OCRA’s Ovarian Cycle Rio Grande Valley returns on September 13th at TRYBE Cycle. This year’s event is especially meaningful, marking the 10th anniversary of the fundraiser. Registration is open now.
Event chair and ovarian cancer survivor Marlynn Olivarez recently appeared on KRGV-TV Channel 5 News with Dina Herrera Garza, and KRGV News Take 5 with Millicent La Mar Oliverez, to talk about the event and its mission.
In her interviews, Olivarez reflected on how Ovarian Cycle Rio Grande Valley honors survivors and remembers those lost to ovarian cancer, while raising critical funds for research aimed at finding a cure. Olivarez noted that this year, participants can choose from three indoor cycling classes throughout the morning, each filled with energy, music, and strong community spirit.
Olivarez emphasized that beyond the workout, the atmosphere of support and positivity is what keeps riders returning year after year.
We honor those who have fought and lost their battle. We celebrate the survivors and we want to raise money for further research,” she said. “So, please join us.
