BlackDoctor.org Introduces Video Series in Partnership with OCRA

A new video series from BlackDoctor.org in collaboration with Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance is giving voice to the experiences of Black women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

In the first five episodes, Tiffani, Vernelia, Camille, and Kristen, members of OCRA’s community, talk candidly about navigating diagnosis, treatment, and changing relationships; offering their perspectives on resources and support, and underscoring the need for equitable, accessible care, and Dr. Dineo Khabele of OCRA’s Scientific Advisory Committee provides her expert perspective. Tracy Moore, LCSW, OCRA’s Vice President of Support & Education, will close out the series next week with information on OCRA’s programming and how patients can find support.

Through partnerships like these, advocacy initiatives, and equity-focused studies identifying and addressing disparities, OCRA is committed to bridging gaps in outcomes and advancing compassionate, inclusive support for every patient.

OCRA Awards New Research Funding

OCRA announced it has awarded $6 million in new research funding for projects that will begin in 2025. Selected from a record number of applicants through a competitive review, these projects hold promise for important breakthroughs in recurrence, treatment resistance, outcome disparities, and more. More details will be shared in the coming months.
