(12/14/14) | In 2014, with your generous support OCRF grantees made significant advances in the fight against ovarian cancer, including:
- Identified a biomarker that may predict treatment response
- Shed new light on ovarian cancer metastasis
- Demonstrated how ovarian tumors elude the immune system
- Developed an experimental “chemoimmunotherapy” treatment for women with recurrent ovarian cancer
- Showed that glycans can identify ovarian cancer
- Discovered a fusion gene common in ovarian cancer
- Showed how epigenomic strategies efficiently target ovarian cancer stem cells
- Revealed how mesothelial cells promote ovarian cancer metastasis
