Woman to Woman (W2W) is a program that pairs gynecologic cancer patients with trained Volunteer Mentors who provide one-on-one emotional support and mentoring. W2W also promotes education and self-advocacy for women in treatment, as well as for their partners, families, and other caregivers. From the moment of diagnosis through the end of treatment, W2W Mentors have helped hundreds of women and their loved ones cope with a diagnosis of gynecologic cancer.
Historically, W2W programs were offered at specific hospital or community- based locations and trained Mentors met one-on-one with the patients with whom they are matched to. Mentors listen, discuss concerns, share experiences, support, and sometimes just hold a hand. We have expanded W2W to include a “national site” made up of Mentors from across the country who are willing to connect with those who may not have an available local program.
