  • Black Women’s Health Imperative
    Targets the most pressing health issues that affect Black women and girls in the U.S. through investments in evidence-based strategies, programs, and advocacy outreach on health policies.

    This site features cancer information provided by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, including links to find an oncologist and information on cancer types.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
    The CDC collects and publishes data on ovarian cancer in the United States, as well as sharing basic information about the disease.
  • Foundation for Women’s Cancer
    The Foundation for Women’s Cancer provides information and resources on all gynecologic cancers and offers free educational courses for survivors in locations throughout the United States.
  • National Comprehensive Cancer Network
    NCCN is a not-for-profit alliance of leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, research, and education.
  • Health Finder
    Healthfinder.gov collects resources on a wide range of health topics selected from approximately 1,400 government and nonprofit organizations. The site provides information on a wide range of health topics, including ovarian cancer.
  • HPV Alliance
    HPV Alliance provides information about how to prevent and treat Human Papillomavirus, along with its link to some cancer diagnosis.
  • Inside Knowledge
    The Inside Knowledge campaign is a project run by the CDC to raise awareness of the five main types of gynecologic cancer: cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar. OCRA has taken a leading role in advocating for federal funding for this project.
  • Latinas Contra Cancer
    Latinas Contra Cancer exists to create equitable and just access to health and the healthcare system for the Latino community around issues of cancer and cancer prevention. Though based in California, this organization offers virtual resources in Spanish and English.
  • Medline
    Clearinghouse for information and links that describes diagnosis and treatment options.
  • National Cancer Institute
    The NCI provides information about ovarian cancer on its website, as well as funding and conducting cancer research.
  • National LGBT Cancer Network
    The National LGBT Cancer Network is a nonprofit organization that addresses the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender cancer survivors and those at risk. Founded and directed by members of the LGBT community. They host regular cancer support groups for LGBT individuals.
  • National LGBT Cancer Project
    The first lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender cancer support and advocacy nonprofit in the U.S. They run Out With Cancer, an online support community, and offer resources on navigating LGBT cancer survivorship and caregiving.
  • SAGE
    This organization offers advocacy and services for LGBTQ+ Elders. Though not cancer-specific, it is a great resource on health and aging in the LGBTQ+ community.

Hair Loss

  • Cooling Caps to Reduce Hair Loss
    Information from Memorial Sloan Kettering on how the use of cooling caps may reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss. Provides resources to purchase cold caps.
  • EBeauty
    EBeauty offers a Wig Exchange Program for those undergoing cancer treatment from women who have completed cancer treatment. The wigs are refurbished and then distributed free of charge to women undergoing treatment.
  • HairtoStay
    Information and financial assistance around scalp cooling and cooling caps.
  • Headcovers Unlimited
    Provides overview of chemotherapy and hair loss. Offers head-covers and hats for sale.
  • Look Good Feel Better
    Look Good Feel Better offers free workshops to women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or other forms of treatment. Led by beauty professionals, the workshops help women learn to look and feel their best while undergoing treatment.
  • National Wigs for Cancer Society
    NWFCS works directly with your insurance or our network of independent fundraising campaigns and donors to ensure you receive your high quality, 100% human hair wig at little to no cost. 
  • Sharsheret
    Through Sharsheret’s Best Face Forward 2.0 program, eligible patients with ovarian cancer diagnoses (or those considered at high risk of developing ovarian cancer) may qualify for financial assistance for wigs (cranial hair prosthesis), cold caps (scalp cooling treatment), and/or tattooing of the eyebrows (microblading).

  • Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy
    The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy works to educate the public and health care professionals, and provide state-of-the-art treatment for patients with peripheral neuropathy—a common side effect of ovarian cancer treatment.
  • National Lymphedema Network
    Many women with ovarian cancer experience lymphedema, or swelling of the limbs, as a side effect of cancer treatment. The National Lymphedema Network provides information and resources related to this condition.

    A program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, providing information and support to patients nearing end-of-life, advance directives, caregivers and those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
