  • The Cancer Genome Atlas and Personalized Medicine
    Presented by Dr. Ilana Cass of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 3rd.
    In July of 2011, researchers working as part of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Research Network reported that they had created a genetic “map” of ovarian cancer. This important work, the largest study of any tumor type to date, will help researchers better understand the disease and pave the way for more effective, targeted treatment. Members of OCRF’s Scientific Advisory Committee, Board of Directors, as well as OCRF grantees, contributed to this landmark study.
  • Survivors Teaching Students®: Telling Your Story
    Coming soon! This webinar held on on April 12, 2012 includes speaker STS National Program Director Susan Leighton, Amanda Davis from the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, and survivors Debra Frick and Susan Herringby. Our Survivors Teaching Students® program brings ovarian cancer survivors into the classrooms of medical, nursing and physician assistant schools to teach students about the disease. This webinar is a training for survivors interested in volunteering with the program, or who want a refresher on best practices for telling a personal story.
