Gwen Harding-Peets, Ph.D. is a 19-year survivor of recurrent ovarian cancer and a 1-year survivor of breast cancer. Upon achieving her first remission she sought out avenues to connect with other survivors providing support as well as receiving support. She is a member of the Linda Young Ovarian Cancer Support Program and co-facilitates the monthly Ovarian Cancer National Toll-Free Telephone Support Group hosted by Support Connection. Gwen is the Hudson Valley Regional Coordinator and Ovarian Cancer Helpline Volunteer for SHARE. These activities give her ready access to the pulse of the ovarian cancer community. Gwen is the New York/New Jersey and Virtual Team Regional Coordinator for OCRA’s Survivors Teaching Students®. She served as a Consumer Reviewer for a number of years on various panels of the Ovarian Cancer Research Program under the Department of Defense’s Congressional Directed Medical Research Program. She was part of the first class of patient reviewers to participate on Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) Product Development panels.
