Jeremy Chien, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of California Davis School of Medicine.
Dr. Chien received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Kansas Medical Center and completed Postdoctoral training in Tumor Biology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Pittsburg State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology and Chemistry.
His research program in Applied Genomics and Cancer Therapeutics focuses on advancing the understanding of the genetic basis of ovarian cancer and translating the genetic knowledge into clinical applications to improve early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer. He is interested in applying next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics to understand the progression of ovarian cancer and to identify therapeutic targets in ovarian cancer. He is a former member of the Ovarian Cancer Academy from the Department of Defense and a former Research Scholar from the American Cancer Society. He was a former recipient of Liz Tilberis Scholar from the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
He is the principal investigator on several grants from the Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Reearch Program and serve as a reviewer for the Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Research Program, NCI study sections, Rivkin Center, Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance, and several international grant agencies.
