Your support had a big impact this year

Together, we’ve achieved incredible results in our mission to fund more research breakthroughs, advocate for our community, and support patients and loved ones facing ovarian and gynecologic cancers. Just look at the impact your support made:

  • Lifesaving Prevention Message & Free Genetic Testing Kits: OCRA led the charge in spreading the new and deeply important message that risk awareness and prevention saves lives. Our genetic testing program qualified 3,800+ people to receive free kits. Of the 1,200+ kits processed so far, 68 have come back with a genetic mutation, providing the opportunity for preventive action that could save lives.
  • Largest Research Investment in Our History: Together we made an unprecedented commitment by awarding $9.2 million in research initiatives to better understand, prevent, and ultimately cure ovarian cancer, underscoring our relentless pursuit of progress in research.
  • Legislative Gains for Survivors & Families: OCRA helped secure over $250M in federal funding to promote ovarian cancer research, education, and surveillance efforts, helped pass new biomarker testing laws this year in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, and New Mexico, and acted in response to the ongoing shortage of chemotherapy drugs which has impacted the treatment options available to some ovarian cancer patients.
  • Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer Patient Support: Your support doesn’t only pave the way for a better future — it helps people now. As of 2023 we have matched 2,075 gynecologic cancer patients with survivor Mentors, fielded over 5,400 calls through our patient information line, led 5,800+ attendees of our Staying Connected virtual support series, connected 80,700+ individuals with an online community, and helped 900+ navigate available clinical trials via our Clinical Trials Finder.
