The day before Thanksgiving is a busy one for me, and I imagine, for you too. But before I turn my attention to holiday prep, I wanted to sit down and write this email to you, and everyone who supports OCRA.
It’s hard to overstate the deep gratitude I feel when I think of this team — of our team — and everything we do to fight for an ovarian cancer-free world. Together.
With you at our side, we’re funding groundbreaking research, advocating for government research, and connecting patients with survivors, so no one has to face the fight of their lives alone.
Today, I’m thinking of incredible women like Cecily Osborne, who joined us at our National Conference this past July. Diagnosed this year at age 29 with Stage 3 ovarian cancer, Cecily is in the fight of her life to defeat this devastating disease and help other women recognize the risk factors and symptoms that could lead to early detection, and save their lives.
It’s your support that drives this work forward for Cecily and every woman who needs our help. Your support that can yield the next major breakthrough in cancer research; your support that can (and will!) save women’s lives today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
Our mission is nothing short of curing ovarian cancer. With you at our side, I just know it’s possible.
This Thanksgiving, please accept my deepest thanks, and wishes for happy holidays.
On behalf of the entire OCRA team,
President & CEO
Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance
P.S. Please consider supporting OCRA next week in recognition of Giving Tuesday, a global day for supporting the causes that matter most to you! Be on the look-out for a special offer from my colleagues to make an outsize impact to serve our mission — and work toward a world in which no woman suffers from ovarian cancer.
