A Look Back at Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

What a whirlwind!

You heard a lot from us this September, and we want to take just a moment to tell you how grateful we are for your support throughout Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

With your help, we surpassed our fundraising goal, raising more than $235,000—an incredible achievement that will have a tangible effect in these uncertain times.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month is crucial, because it is a time when we can draw greater attention to this disease. During September, ovarian cancer gets talked about in the news, in the halls of Congress, and on thousands of individual social media platforms in far greater ways. This is important, because conversation leads to conviction. And that kind of commitment can lead to a cure.

We are grateful to everyone who helped spread the word about ovarian cancer. Last month, our social media reach increased by an average of 485%, and that was just on OCRA’s channels alone. More than one thousand of you shared information about signs and symptoms with your own followers, exponentially increasing the number of people who got potentially life-saving information.

September also marked our virtually amazing Uniting for Hope National Conference. Nearly 700 members of the ovarian cancer community joined us, more than twice as many attendees as in previous years. Coming “together” from 47 states and seven countries, we formed new friendships and rekindled long-standing relationships, while delving deep into an array of important topics.

Whether you made a gift, attended the conference, or shared the facts to raise awareness, we thank you for making this Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month a truly meaningful one.

There’s still time to give if you didn’t get a chance to make a donation in September. Your gift will help fund lifesaving ovarian cancer research, advocacy, and programs that support survivors and their families.
