In a new piece published by citybiz, OCRA’s Vice President, Policy, Chad Ramsey, discusses the launch of OCRA’s Center for Public Policy, highlighting its role in expanding critical advocacy work and bringing more agency to the gynecologic cancer community.

Ramsey explains how patient, survivor, and caregiver experiences have helped shape OCRA’s advocacy priorities over the past decade.
Advocacy is personal,” he writes. “Behind every bill, every funding request, every meeting on Capitol Hill, there is someone you are fighting for … I get up each day because I know someone is hoping for more time, a family is searching for new research. That has driven OCRA’s advocacy work for years as the largest funder of research for Ovarian and Gynecologic Cancer.
The Center for Public Policy brings together OCRA’s federal and state policy work, expanded policy priorities, and new tools to support action nationwide.
OCRA’s advocacy initiatives have helped secure more than $3.8 billion in federal research and education funding, trained more than 1,800 Advocate Leaders, and supported more than 2,100 meetings with lawmakers.
