Submit Your Questions for the FDA Listening Session

Don't miss the opportunity to be heard by the FDA

On September 16–17, Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) will host the International Gynecologic Cancer Conference®, the largest conference dedicated to the gynecologic cancer community. Day 2 features a special opportunity: a Listening Session with leaders from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Ask questions about the FDA’s role in drug development and approval, learn how patient perspectives inform decision-making, and help shape the future of gynecologic cancer care, with questions such as:

  • “I suffered for 15 months with treatment side effects before my doctor would decrease my dose. How does the FDA balance efficacy and quality of life when approving a drug?”
  • “How does the FDA ensure that advances in cancer treatment (or clinical trials) include patients who have historically poor outcomes? Or include people like me that are at a higher risk of death?”
  • “I currently drive 2 1/2 hours to treatment. I want to participate in a clinical trial and need further treatment options, but the closest cancer center is 7-10 hours away. How does the FDA impact access to care and clinical trials?”
  • “I attend OCRA programs and community meetings to learn from others about their treatment experiences. As I decide about enrolling in a clinical trial, there is no mechanism for people to share their experiences. Could you share the reasoning behind this?”
  • “How does the FDA ensure that clinical trials are designed and conducted with diverse representation of the community? I am hesitant to participate in a trial, for I rarely see women of my race and age during treatment.”
  • “Does the FDA focus on prevention and early detection of cancers or just treatment?”

We strongly encourage you to submit your questions by August 28 to help us prepare for a rich discussion.

This will be an interactive conversation about living with gynecologic cancer. You are invited to share your experiences with diagnosis, biomarker and genetic testing, treatment decisions, side effects, quality of life, and the challenges you’ve faced along the way. Your voice matters, and we hope you will join us.
