Newk’s Cares, our Partner in the Fight

This September, Newk’s Cares, the ovarian cancer awareness movement founded by fast-casual restaurant Newk’s Eatery, will honor the legacy of late co-founder Lori Newcomb with a series of meaningful initiatives online and at all 100+ restaurant locations across the country.
Newk’s Cares was founded after Lori was diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer in 2013. Her vision and dedication has helped Newk’s raise critical research funds and invaluable awareness of the disease.
Here’s how you can join Newk’s in the fight to save more lives.
- Place an order for dine-in, to-go, or curbside pick-up at any Newk’s Eatery location during the month of September, and you can make a difference with every bite, when you make a donation during the checkout process. All funds collected will benefit OCRA. Guests who make an in-store donation will get a personalized teal ribbon certificate to display inside the restaurant! Find a Newk’s near you.
- Work up a sweat for a great cause! OCRA and Presenting Sponsor Newk’s Cares are taking our Ovarian Cycle Jackson event virtual on September 17th, with a series of 5 livestream workouts.
- Newk’s Eatery supports ovarian cancer research and education year-round, by turning their beverage straws teal, the color of ovarian cancer awareness, and donating $0.10 to OCRA from every Newk’s Cares-themed bottled water sold.
Everyone at Newk’s Eatery is committed to supporting ovarian cancer research and awareness, and with each community’s support every woman can have a fighting chance. Help support their efforts to fight this disease by visiting NewksCares.com and following Newk’s Cares on Facebook.
Since its inception, Newk’s Cares has raised over $1.4 million for OCRA!
Thank you, Newk’s!
