Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Announces National Expansion with Ovarian Cycle
Indoor cycling nonprofit organization increases OCRF’s athletic fundraising events nationwide
New York, NY November 28, 2012 –Ovarian Cancer Research Fund has acquired Ovarian Cycle, an indoor cycling nonprofit organization founded in 2004 in Atlanta, GA. Ovarian Cycle began with forty indoor cycling enthusiasts and a common mission, to fund ovarian cancer research, and to honor the life of Atlanta native Debbie Green Flamm, daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher and friend, who succumbed to the disease at age 43. Nine years later with nearly 600 participants and thousands of supporters each year, they ride for every single person touched by this disease and have inspired others to take action, with annual indoor cycling events in Atlanta, Georgia, Birmingham, Alabama, Tallahassee, Florida, Seattle, Washington, New York, New York and Dallas, Texas. Now, as part of OCRF, Ovarian Cycle events will continue to expand nationally to more cities with more riders and supporters. New events are planned for 2013 in Tampa, Florida, Los Angeles, California, and Louisville, Kentucky.

Ovarian Cycle participants ride as individuals, or in teams with family and friends. They receive spinning training in the weeks leading up to the event, pay a registration fee and commit to raise a minimum donation. Since its inception nine years ago, Ovarian Cycle has raised over $1.5 million for ovarian cancer research, donating $1 million to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

We know that partnering with OCRF will allow us to tap into its infrastructure, resources and expertise, and increase our ability to expand Ovarian Cycle rides to more cities.”
As part of Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Ovarian Cycle, along with exciting new partnerships such as the events’ 2013 official media partner HEALTH magazine, will enable OCRF to inspire more people to fitness, expand its direct presence in the athletic fundraising community, raise ovarian cancer awareness, and fund more ovarian cancer research to one day find a cure.
