About Gynecologic and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

September is recognized nationwide as Gynecologic and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. This is a dedicated time to raise awareness for all gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.

Throughout the month, OCRA joins forces with patients, caregivers, and supporters to amplify our voices. We focus on educating the public about risks and symptoms, highlighting the urgent need for more research funding, and honoring the countless individuals and families impacted by these diseases.

Get Inspired & Be a Real-Life OCRA Hero

Rebecca A.

Fundraising for OCRA is a great way to make an impact this September. Get inspired by Rebecca A., a real-life OCRA Hero.

Rebecca was diagnosed with Stage 1 ovarian cancer last year. Soon after, she created a stand-up comedy fundraiser featuring a silent auction, drinks, and even a meatball-eating contest.

I chose to fundraise for OCRA because of their outstanding impact, excellent reputation, and their support of a wide range of cancer-related causes,” said Rebecca. “Cancer sucks. But life’s also too short not to laugh in the face of fate anyway.

Rebecca’s comedy night raised over $5,500 for OCRA’s programs, moving us one step closer to a cure while supporting patients and loved ones navigating gynecologic cancer.

Whether organizing an event, sharing a personal fundraising page, or finding another way to make a difference, your efforts can bring hope and resources to those impacted by gynecologic cancer.

Start your fundraiser today. Have questions? Send us an email and we’ll help you get started.
