SummeRun Raises $260,000+ for Research, Hope and Progress
Nearly one thousand runners, walkers, survivors, families, friends, and supporters showed up at Seattle’s Seward Park on Sunday, July 12th, for the 33rd annual Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) Rivkin Family SummeRun, raising more than $260,000 for research and programs that support the gynecologic cancer community.
The SummeRun transformed Seward Park on the shores of Lake Washington into a sea of teal and purple, as people (and some pets) gathered together for the 5K run/walk, brand new Kids Fun Run, face painting, live music, and more.
SummeRun was started by Dr. Saul Rivkin and his five daughters in memory of his beloved wife and their mother, Marsha Rivkin. The Rivkin Center is now part of OCRA.
We are grateful to everyone who walked, ran, donated, sponsored or volunteered, and helped make this 33rd annual SummeRun a success. Together, you are helping us accelerate research, improve outcomes, and give hope to everyone impacted by ovarian and gynecologic cancer.

OCRA’s Advocate’s Corner
OCRA’s advocacy work extends beyond legislation and federal funding. This month, OCRA submitted public comments on proposed changes to how federal research grants are managed, urging regulators to preserve independent scientific peer review, prevent disruption to active clinical trials, and continue supporting research on healthcare access and disparities.
On the legislative front, both the House and Senate advanced several bipartisan bills this month aimed at improving healthcare price transparency and affordability. OCRA will continue monitoring these bills and advocating for policies that support patients and high-quality research.

Rivkin Symposium Draws Record Number of Ovarian Cancer Abstract Submissions
OCRA received a record 233 abstract submissions from researchers around the world interested in presenting at the 16th Biennial Rivkin Ovarian Cancer Research Symposium. The event takes place October 16-18 in Philadelphia.
Founded by the Rivkin Center in 1996, the Symposium is the oldest ovarian cancer research conference of its kind, bringing together clinicians and researchers to discuss recent advances and innovations, share ideas, and strengthen ties across the field.
While abstract submissions have closed, registration is still open. We invite those in the research community to share with your networks.

International Gynecologic Cancer Conference
More than 950 people have registered to join us on September 16-17 for OCRA’s International Gynecologic Cancer Conference®, the largest free online event dedicated to the gynecologic cancer community.
