Urgent: Tell Your Senators to Increase Ovarian Cancer Research Funding

Urge your Senators TODAY to co-sponsor a $50 million budget — a $5 million funding increase over current levels — for the federal Ovarian Cancer Research Program!

This April, we asked for our community’s help in collecting signatures on a bipartisan Dear Colleague letter in the House of Representatives requesting a major funding increase to the Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) at Department of Defense (DOD).

Hundreds responded, resulting in an impressive 130 signatures. This community made a big difference — and now we need your help gaining support in the Senate!

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) just launched a Senate version of the Dear Colleague letter, and he needs our help to get as many of his Senate colleagues to sign on as possible.

The OCRP is the only federal research program dedicated to ovarian cancer. The program has an impressive track record of funding high-impact, innovative ovarian cancer research — yet they are forced to turn away promising proposals every year because of funding limitations.

Every discovery has the potential to save lives, and an increase in federal funding is desperately needed. Adding your voice only takes a minute — and it can mean the difference between your Senators signing on, or leaving millions of ovarian cancer research dollars on the table.

Please take action today by completing our quick form. You may edit the message, if you wish, and the system will automatically send it to your Senators. Don’t wait: The deadline to sign on and push this funding increase across the finish line is May 13th.
