Anil Sood, MD, Principal Investigator of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Program Project Development Grant, is featured in the December 17 Wall Street Journal article “Cancer Study Explores Role of 2 Proteins.” The study is supported by grant funds from OCRF.
Dr. Sood is Director of Ovarian Cancer Research at MD Anderson and senior author of the New England Journal of Medicine study cited in the article. Dr. Sood and his team of researchers have found that ovarian cancer patients with low levels of two proteins die much sooner than women with high levels of the proteins, a finding that is an important development in the search for new ovarian cancer treatments. Click here to read the article about this promising discovery, and congratulations to Dr. Sood and his team for this much deserved recognition of their work. A full description of his project can also be found on page 16 of the OCRF Program Project Development Grant Compendium.
