Nearly 500 people have already registered for OCRA’s International Gynecologic Cancer Conference—the largest conference dedicated to the gynecologic cancer community—taking place on September 16–17.

The conference is free, online, and open to all, and will include programming for ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and rare gynecologic cancers. For the first time, each of these diseases will have a dedicated Ask the Experts session.

Learn the latest breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatment and what’s on the horizon in clinical trials. Most sessions will be recorded, so you can attend live or catch up whenever it works for you.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in treatment, post-treatment, or supporting a loved one, join us and learn from top clinicians, find the conversations that matter most to you, and connect with a supportive community that understands your experience.

Register for the Conference today.

Support for this event is provided by OCRA’s 2026 Conference sponsors.

OCRA’s Living Lab: Your Experience Powering Progress

The Living Lab is OCRA’s patient registry for people with uterine or ovarian cancer—a place to share experiences and health information that help researchers better understand these diseases and work toward improved care.
Since launching in May, the response has been inspiring. More than 450 people have consented to participate, from 44 states and the District of Columbia.
The more people who join, the more powerful the data becomes for researchers to answer questions that matter for patients today and in the future.

Support for the Living Lab is provided by AbbVie, AstraZeneca, and GSK.

OCRA’s Advocate’s Corner

Federal Funding: Two Priorities Gain Ground

Two of OCRA’s top federal funding priorities are in line for more money than they received last year—a meaningful sign of growing congressional support, and a direct result of your advocacy.
This month, the House Appropriations Committee recommended increases for:

• Johanna’s Law: $13 million, up from $12 million in FY26
• OCCI (Ovarian Cancer Control Initiative): $16.5 million, up from $15.5 million in FY26

Though funding levels are not yet final, these potential year-over-year gains reflect real momentum—and your advocacy helped Congress enter these negotiations from a stronger position.

Learn the latest from Capitol Hill in this month’s Advocate’s Corner.

Take Action: OCRA is urging support for the Clinical Trial Modernization Act, bipartisan legislation that reduces barriers to clinical trial participation. Contact your lawmakers through our Action Alert.

Ovarian Cancer Observatory Convenes First In-Person Forum

On June 1-2, the Ovarian Cancer Observatory, part of OCRA’s broader investment in research initiatives, convened its first in-person Forum in Vancouver.

Roughly 50 leading clinicians, pathologists, and epidemiologists gathered to discuss opportunistic salpingectomy—the removal of the fallopian tubes as a strategy to prevent ovarian cancer—and how analyzing those removed tubes for STIC lesions, the precancerous cells that can signal disease, could sharpen prevention efforts worldwide.

The Observatory is funded through a grant from OCRA and was headed by Gillian Hanley, PhD, and David Huntsman, MD, FRCPC, FCCMG, of the University of British Columbia. Drs. Hanley and Huntsman are both members of OCRA’s Scientific Advisory Committee.
