Recognizing the community’s concern about the USPSTF recommendation regarding screening for ovarian cancer in September 2012, OCRF responded by writing a New York Times Letter to the Editor to reinforce the fact that research is the key and expand our message to a much wider audience. A study of 240 patients with ovarian cancer concluded that young women with early stage disease be provided the option of fertility sparing surgery, rather than aggressive debulking.
